Idris Elba wants live-action Cyberpunk 2077 movie with Keanu Reeves after Sonic 3 collab
Cyberpunk 2077 has been out for four years, but just last week it got an additional update.
It's gone from the game removed from digital storefronts (at least on PlayStation) to being a true redemption story, with last year's fantastic Phantom Liberty expansion introducing Idris Elba as the secret agent Solomon Reed.
The actor, who is currently reprising his role as Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic 3, a very different video game adaptation, has revealed he's hopeful of being part of a live-action Cyberpunk 2077 movie alongside his current co-star, Keanu Reeves.

When asked about his interest in appearing in a movie based on the RPG with Reeves, Elba seemed very keen.
“Oh, man, that's a great question. I think if any film could do a live-action rendition, it could be [Cyberpunk 2077 ], and I think his [Reeves] character and my character together would be, 'Whoa.' So, let's speak that into existence.”
While Elba has been part of Cyberpunk since last year's Phantom Liberty expansion, Reeves has been in it from the start.
The Matrix star was a key part of the game's marketing, playing Johnny Silverhand, who appears in much of the game as a hallucination of the protagonist, V.
We recently heard that, while a live-action project based on Cyberpunk is in development, it won't be coming anytime soon.
The good news, however, is that developer CD Projekt has partnered with Netflix for further animated projects.
